About MakeChurchAwesome
MakeChurchAwesome builds tools for the people who run a church: ones that read the data you already keep and show you what needs you. The shipped product today is for worship teams. There are free tools and a song database here too, open to anyone, no signup.
Built by a worship leader
I spent years as a music director managing the same weekly scramble. Picking songs from memory, texting key changes to the band, hoping the energy arc made sense by Sunday morning. The free tools here started as answers to those weekly questions. The worship-team product started as a spreadsheet I kept for my own team, and grew into a read on the people behind the schedule, not just the schedule itself.
What you'll find here
- A database of 10,000+ worship songs with key, BPM, energy, and themes
- Song Key Finder for quick key lookups
- Set Time Calculator to check if your set fits the time slot
- Songs by Theme to browse songs grouped by topic
- Worship Calendar to find songs for the liturgical season
Everything is free, no account required. The data comes from a catalog that gets updated regularly.
Who this is for
Music directors, worship leaders, and executive pastors who plan sets between rehearsals, over lunch, or Saturday night. The kind of people who care about getting the right songs in the right keys but don't have time for another dashboard.
How the song data works
The database has over a thousand worship songs with original keys, BPM, energy levels, and themes. BPM and key data is sourced from GetSongBPM. Songs come from artists like Hillsong, Bethel, Elevation, Maverick City, and many more. The catalog is updated on a regular basis as new songs get added to church rotations.
The worship-team product
Tenure reads your Planning Center schedule and gives you a quiet read on your team: who's going quiet, who's steady but unseen, who's ready for more. It still runs your set too, comfortable keys per singer, the right key on every song, suggestions by theme and energy. It's available now, with a free waitlist. The same engine is planned to reach more of the people who run your church, and we'll only call those shipped when they are.
